LA's Cannabis Epicenter: Green Street

all

WHETHER IT BE MUSIC, FASHION, SKATEBOARDING, OR GRAFFITI, ANY COMMUNITY WITH A STONG CULTURAL PRESENCE HAS A MECCA OR EPICENTER. THE MEAT PACKING DISTRICT, PIPELINE AND MACBA IN BARCELONA ARE EXAMPLES OF PLACES WHERE PEOPLE CAME FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD TO CONNECT WITH LIKE MINDED INDIVIDUALS THAT SHARE THEIR PASSION. THE CANNABIS COMMUNITY IS RICH IN CULTURE AND DECADES OF PROHIBITION HAS MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR THOUGHT LEADERS TO COME TOGETHER IN A PUBLIC SPACE. AS WE ARE APPROACHING FEDERAL LEGALIZATION IT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER FOR SOMEONE TO CREATE A SAFE SPACE FOR THE COMMUNITY.

AFTER 4 YEARS OF CONSTRUCTION, JOSH SHELTON AND RAMA MAYO HAVE OPENED THE GREEN STREET BUILDING IN THE HEART OF DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES. USING HIS DECADES OF MARKETING EXPERIENCE IN MUSIC ALONGSIDE HIS WORK AT THE STREET VIRUS AGENCY, RAMA MAYO HELPED LAUNCH G-PEN ALONGSIDE MANY OTHER FIRST TO MARKET CANNABIS BRANDS. MEANWHILE JOSH'S LAW FIRM WAS REPRESENTING G-PEN AND BROUGHT THE IDEA OF A COMPLAINT CANNABIS MARKETING AGENCY TO RAMA. GREEN STREET BEGAN AND QUICKLY GREW TO BE THE PREMIERE AGENCY IN THE LEGAL CALIFORNIA CANNABIS MARKET. BUILDING THEIR COMMUNITY OUT OF THE DESMOND BUILDING OFF MIRACLE MILE, GREEN STREET SOON CREATED HALL OF FLOWERS, THE MOST RESPECTED B2B TRADE SHOW IN CANNABIS. AS HALL OF FLOWERS CAME TOGETHER GREEN STREET STRUCK UP A GIANT PARTNERSHIP WITH GARY VAYNERCHUCK. IF YOU THOUGHT THEIR PLATE WASN'T FULL ENOUGH, GREEN STREET THEN DECIDED TO OPEN A 7 STORY BUILDING IN DOWNTOWN LA DEDICATED TO SERVING THE CANNABIS INDUSTRY WITH THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO HAVE THE SHOWROOM LOOK LIKE HALL OF FLOWERS 365 DAYS A YEAR.

THE BUILDING HAS BEEN OPEN FOR 3 MONTHS AND AS IT FILLS UP WILL HOUSE OVER 50 CANNABIS BRANDS. EACH BRAND WILL HAVE ACCESS TO THE 4TH FLOOR SHOWROOM AS WELL AS "ALTA", THE HIGH CEILING GALLERY ON FLOOR 7. THE ROOFTOP, ONCE COMPLETED, WILL BE THE SECOND LARGEST EVENT PERMITTED ROOF IN DOWNTOWN LA. THE SECOND FLOOR WILL BE OCCUPIED BY HYPEWOLF, A TOP DELIVERY SERVICE IN CALIFORNIA. A GREENHOUSE SKYLIGHT LOOKS DOWN INTO THE GUSTO GREENS RESTAURANT WHERE THE GUESTS CAN LEAVE THEIR TABLE TO SMOKE ON THE BALCONY OF THE SECOND FLOOR.

JOSH AND RAMA ARE LAYING OUT A SPACE FOR THE INDUSTRY TO PLAY IT OUT. A BLANK CANVAS THAT WILL BE FILLED WITH THE CREATIVITY OF FORWARD THINKING STONERS. THIS WILL BE A BUILDING BLOCK FOR THE FUTURE OF CANNABIS AS GIANT CORPORATIONS ENTER THE INDUSTRY. HAVING THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO HAVE LED US TO THE CURRENT STATE OF CANNABIS UNDER THE SAME ROOF, GIVES US AT HIGH RISE GREAT HOPES WE WILL BE ABLE TO COMPETE WITH THE CULTURE VULTURES THAT ARE SWARMING AND PREYING ON OUR COMPASSION BASED COMMUNITY.
