THE GREEN STREET FESTIVAL W/ GARY VEE & ADAM22
LOS ANGELES HAS BEEN THE EPICENTER OF CANNABIS THE PAST FEW YEARS WITH EVENTS HAPPENING ALMOST DAILY. MOST OF THESE PARTIES ARE SMALL GATHERS, BECAUSE OF COMPLIANCE AND REGULATIONS THEY ARE USUALY KEPT TO UNDER 200 PEOPLE. TRADITIONAL SOCAL EVENTS HAVE BEEN HOSTED IN THE DESERT, 2 HOURS OUTSIDE OF THE CITY, WHERE LOCAL POLICYMAKERS TEND TO BE MORE CANNABIS FRIENDLY. AFTER YEARS OF PLANNING LOS ANGELES GOT ITS FIRST CANNABIS FESTIVAL BROUGHT TO US BY GREEN STREET. THE FESTIVAL HAD DOZENS OF CANNABIS BRANDS SHOWCASE FOR THOUSANDS OF STONERS BOUNCING BETWEEN THE GREEN STREET BUILDING AND THE MAJESTIC THEATER A FEW BLOCKS AWAY. THE FIRST EVENING STARTED WITH A GARY VEE MEET AND GREET IN THE GUSTO GREEN RESTAURANT ON THE GROUND FLOOR OF GREEN STREET.
FLOOR BY FLOOR THE EVENT MADE IT'S WAY UP THE SEVEN STORIES INTO "ALTA" WHERE THE COMMUNITY WAS SESHING, PLAYING BUBBLE AIR HOCKEY AND NETWORKING, FIGURING OUT THE FUTURE OF CANNABIS. COMEDIAN MIKE GLAZER HIT THE STAGE TO BRING GARY AND HARRY MACK UP WHERE THEY HAD A QUICK DISCUSSION BEFORE HARRY DROPPED 2 INCREDIBLE FREESTYLES FOR THE CROWD THAT LEFT OUR THC INFUSED BRAINS BOTH MELTED AND INSPIRED. FOLLOWING THE PERFORMANCE GARY V HOPPED ON THE BUBBLE HOCKEY MACHINE TO PLAY THE TOURNAMENT WINNER, CANNABIS PERSONALITY, ADAM ILL.
AFTER GARY BEAT ADAM OUR HIGH RISE FOUNDER ERIN COFFEY PULLED UP TO THE TABLE FOR AN INTENSE MATCH AND SOME COMPETITIVE FACETIME WITH GARY. A FEW MORE GAMES AND THAT CONCLUDED THE FIRST DAY OF THE FEST. DAY TWO WAS 12 HOURS OF SMOKING, EATING, NETWORKING, VIBING AND ENTERTAINMENT. THE BUILDING WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND FILLED WITH STONERS FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY WANTING TO DIVE LUNGS FIRST INTO THE LA COMMUNITY. AFTER'S ICE CREAM AND YEASTY BOYS WE FLANKED BY THE BEST FOOD TRUCKS IN LA. FLASH TATTOOS AT THE SHOP NEXT DOOR, FRESH THAI COCONUTS, INTERACTIVE VR, COUNTLESS EXPERIENTIAL ACTIVATIONS ALONG WITH THE NEW ROOFTOP HAD THE GREEN STREET BUILDING OFFICIALLY ON THE MAP. AROUND 6PM EVERYONE HEAD TO THE MAJESTIC THEATER WHERE THE STAGE HAD JAY CHANDRASAKHAR OF BROKEN LIZARD, GARY VEE WITH ADAM 22 OF NO JUMPER, A PERFORMANCE FROM HARRY MACK AND WAS CAPPED OFF BY A LIT SET BY JUICY J.
AS JUICY J WAS CLOSING OUT HIS SET WITH "WHO THE NEIGHBORS" WE RAN UP ON RAMA MAYO, OWNER OF GREEN STREET. HE WAS LIGHTING HIS JOINT ON THE DANCE FLOOR RELIEVED THAT HIS YEARS OF HARD WORK AND VISION WAS COMING TO END. ALL THE FIRES THAT COME ALONG WITH CREATING A FESTIVAL AROUND A PLANT THAT ISN'T COMPLETELY LEGAL YET, AN EVENT THAT HAS NEVER BEEN DONE, ALL THE HEADACHES AND PROBLEM SOLVING WERE OVER. WE ALL GAVE RAMA A BIG HUG, CONGRATULATED HIM AND THANKED HIM FOR LETTING HIGHRISE BE THE MEDIA PARTNER OF THE FESTIVAL. WE DID IT, HE DID IT, THE COMMUNITY DID IT. GREEN STREET THREW THE FIRST CANNABIS FESTIVAL IN LOS ANGELES. WHAT'S NEXT?
